{"id":2050,"date":"2026-10-07T07:20:28","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T07:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitpremilcuore.it\/chestnut-festival\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T10:17:27","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T10:17:27","slug":"chestnut-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visitpremilcuore.it\/en\/chestnut-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Sagra della castagna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"651\"><strong data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"328\">The oldest festival organised by the Pro Loco takes place every year in October.<\/strong> It is a celebration dedicated to chestnuts, their harvest and the many products made from them: roasted chestnuts, <em data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"458\">castagnaccio<\/em> (a traditional chestnut cake) and boiled chestnuts, best enjoyed with an excellent glass of Sangiovese, all against the backdrop of the colourful autumn landscape of the surrounding mountains.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"653\" data-end=\"762\">The event also offers visitors the opportunity to take part in chestnut picking in the local chestnut groves.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"1041\">The traditional programme of food and entertainment is centred around the Festival Area, with a large fire brazier for roasting chestnuts and food stalls serving local specialities such as <em data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"966\">cappelletti<\/em> (filled pasta), polenta, <em data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1014\">tortelli alla lastra<\/em>, fried <em data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1031\">piadina<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1043\" data-end=\"1330\">In recent years, the <strong>Sagra del Raviggiolo <\/strong>\u00a0has also been held on the second Sunday. Raviggiolo is a soft, white cheese with a very delicate, slightly buttery flavour.
