Audio description<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is the Ponte Nuovo, which should have at least a late-medieval origin, and in 1514 it was known as the \u2018ponte a scanno\u2019, built at a strategic point along the ancient Strada Fiorentina, it collapsed in the mid-sixteenth century and was rebuilt in its present form only around the mid-1600s. In the early 1700s a gualchiera\u2014a fulling mill for processing cloth\u2014was added beside it, along with a grain mill.
